Minnesota reality TV fans may be happy to hear that Rob Kardashian has reached an agreement with Blac Chyna over the support of their 1-year-old daughter. The terms of the deal were agreed upon in mid-September.
According to media reports, the former couple will share custody of their child. Kardashian will also pay his ex-girlfriend $20,000 each month in child support. Meanwhile, Chyna has agreed to drop the domestic violence claims she leveled against Kardashian in July.
Kardashian and Chyna were once engaged to be married and starred in a spinoff of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. However, the couple split up in November 2016, and Chyna took custody of their baby girl. The pair then engaged in a nasty custody battle, with each using their social media accounts to try to harm the reputation of the other. Kardashian eventually cut off Chyna’s access to his family’s money. Chyna countered by buying a new Ferrari with her own money. Despite the custody agreement, the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services is reportedly investigating the welfare of the couple’s daughter and Chyna’s 4-year-old son from another relationship.
Child support and custody disputes can be heated and protracted. As a result, many parents find it helpful to seek the representation of a family law attorney. Legal counsel could protect a parent’s rights throughout the legal process and work to negotiate agreements on child custody, child support and visitation that are in the best interests of the child. If a child custody agreement needs to be modified in the future, an attorney could file the necessary documents with the court.
