Shannon Wachter

Ms. Shannon M. Wachter is a senior associate in the Family Law practice group.

Ms. Wachter clerked for the Honorable Mary E. Madden and the Honorable Anne K. McKeig in the Hennepin County District Court – Family Division. She managed a federally funded grant through the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women called the Family Court Enhancement Project. Ms. Wachter collaborated with national domestic violence experts, judges, court administration leadership, attorneys, arbitrators, advocates, mental health providers and other community stakeholders to implement institutional changes to improve the court’s response to custody and parenting time issues for families experiencing domestic violence. She has presented nationally to multidisciplinary groups about implementing system change in courts to better account for the dynamics of domestic violence in family court proceedings.

Ms. Wachter’s passion in family law is rooted in providing clients with strategic and compassionate representation. Ms. Wachter relies on her in-depth knowledge of the nuanced area of family law, her strategic analytical skills and empathetic listening, to provide clients with holistic advocacy. She enjoys getting to know her clients and supporting her clients through the often very emotionally difficult and challenging landscape of family-related issues.

Ms. Wachter obtained her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and her B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. She is licensed to practice in Minnesota State Courts.

Ms. Wachter enjoys exploring the Twin Cities with her children and practicing yoga.
