St. Paul DUI Defense Lawyer

A charge of driving while intoxicated (DWI) impacts not only your ability to drive, but often your job, your family and your reputation. One of the most important things you can do to protect yourself after being pulled over on suspicion of DWI is to contact an experienced defense attorney.

At Groshek Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota, attorney Christa Groshek defends individuals charged with DUI/DWI. She works with the authorities to obtain evidence and, in some cases, may be able to get the charges or penalties associated with a drunk driving charge reduced.

Contacting an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your rights. For a free, confidential consultation with Christa Groshek, call her office at 612-424-5829 or toll free 888-721-1056.

Implied Consent

As in most other states, Minnesota has an implied consent provision. This means that by obtaining a driver's license, you are consenting to be subjected to tests when pulled over on suspicion of DUI. If you fail to agree to testing, your driving privileges will be revoked for a set period of time. Click here to learn more.

The Consequences of a DUI Conviction

If you test positive for DUI, the ramifications on your ability to drive can become effective immediately. In most cases, you will receive a seven-day temporary license before the withdrawal of your original license. Once your license has been withdrawn, you could face suspension anywhere from 90 days to permanent cancellation, depending upon the circumstances of your case.

The Two-Part Approach to DUI

After a DUI arrest, there are criminal and licensing ramifications. Christa can help you with both parts of your DUI defense, including filing an implied consent petition with the county and making sure that your petition for a temporary driver's license is filed within 30 days as required by law.

Understanding DUI/DWI administrative procedures and your right to an attorney can be crucial to your DWI/DUI case. In Hennepin and Ramsey counties, she can help you pursue the immediate reinstatement of your license while your case is pending.
