Joelle Groshek bases her practice on a wide range of personal financial issues. She specializes in defending those accused of white collar crime, particularly tax fraud, health care fraud, and benefits fraud. In addition, she also represents clients facing audits and collections by the Internal Revenue Service as well as investigations and determinations made by other agencies and licensing boards, including the Department of Human Services. Outside of criminal law, Joelle provides estate planning and probate services to families, individuals, and couples. Finally, Joelle pilots the firm’s appellate practice in many practice areas including criminal, child protection, and certiorari appeals.

Joelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell College of Law) in May 2016. During her time in law school, Joelle worked in criminal defense, probate, and estate planning matters for small and mid-size firms in Minneapolis. Excelling in legal research and writing, Joelle served as an Executive Editor of the Mitchell Hamline Law Review. In her final semester, she co-represented the school at the National Tax Moot Court competition presented by the Florida Bar.

Joelle’s previous lives include a short stint as a personal trainer, an internship at an organic flower and vegetable farm, and extended stays in Eastern Europe.  As a result, her hours outside of the law office involve lots of good cooking, tending to her patio flower garden, practicing her now much smaller Polish vocabulary, and long bicycle rides with her husband.
